- How would I get started once you set me up with my news system?
We will send you an E-mail message containing your login information and also include instructions on how you would proceed to customize and load your news web site with content. There is also an online help system with context-sensitive help topic links through out the administrative panel. And as always support will be at your finger tips with the integrated Solupress Support System®.
- What can be customized on the news site so I stand out from the rest?
There are a number of areas you can customize. To begin with, you can customize the entire top portion with your own custom logo image and/or HTML, the entire bottom portion, as well as changing background, text, and link colors. The font can also be set giving you drastically different looks. In addition, you may shift positioning of ad images, sports scores and stocks, and add custom HTML in many places in the site template.
- Can I use my own domain name to point directly to my news site?
Yes, you can have your domain map directly to your news site directly through DNS or through a redirect. You can also use a subdomain under our domain (ex. myname.solupress.com) for free as long as you're our customer.
- How much disk space and data transfer is each account given?
Each account is provided 5 GB of space and 250 GB of data transfer. At 250 KB per typical visit, your news web site could have up to 1,000,000 visits per month.
- Do you back up the news site and if so, how often?
Yes, we do so daily and can provide you with a download or CD/DVD of the backup upon request at a nominal charge.
- Can I track my visits to my web site?
Yes, you will be able to run reports on visit statistics and view bar graphs of the activity on your news web site. Additionally, you can use an outside company to get detailed statistics on your site's traffic by placing their script on your site in a custom HTML area.
- Will new features be added to my news web site as you develop them?
We are always forging ahead with developing new features and enhancing the overall experience for readers and administrators alike. Occassionally, we rollout minor enhancements, features, and bug fixes to our clients' sites at our discretion. These updates are minor and will not be major changes in look-and-feel nor functionality. All new client accounts will be set up with the current version of the Solupress News software. If you are an existing client and would like an upgrade to the current version, we would assess $50 USD prior to the upgrade. The upgrade is typically completed one week after it is requested.
- Can integrate a bulletin board for forums, classifieds system, or something else external?
This is quite easy to do: you simply add a panel link or other link on your news web site that points to the external page. The external system can have a link back to your news web site.
- Can there be more than one administrator log in account for my site?
There can be as many administrators as you'd like for your news web site. You have a screen to add, update, and remove admin users of Solupress News.
- Can I use my site to distribute media like videos, music, or images?
Distributing media is possible and something that Solupress News was created to help facilitate. However, you are strictly prohibited from distributing copyrighted and other intellectual property without the express consent of the owner of the work and must operate your site in accordance with US law on this matter. Should a dispute arise, Inspiro Networks will determine the owner of the work(s), and if the owner is not you, then we will require the work(s) be removed from your site. Failure to comply with our request for removal may result in termination of your account.
